TENDER COFFEE-SIMMERED PORK IN FRYING PAN

INGREDIENTS

Pork belly (Block)

300g

(A)Water

60ml

(A)Concentrated Mentsuyu (seasoning /soup base sauce)

1tbsp

(A)Sake / Cooking wine

1tbsp

(A)Sugar

1/2 tbsp

(A)Grated ginger

2 tsp

(A)The Blend 117

4g

Boiled komatsuna (Japanese spinach)

As desired

PREPARATION METHOD

Combine all the ingredients from section A to make the sauce base, then set it aside.

Slice the pork into 1 cm pieces and pierce each piece a few times with a fork.

Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the pork until lightly browned.

Add the prepared sauce from step 1, reduce the heat to low medium, cover loosely with a lid, and simmer for 4 minutes.

Flip the pork and continue simmering for another 4 minutes until tender.

Serve on a plate and garnish with boiled komatsuna as desired
